Investing in the Next Generation of Chartered Surveyors

We are delighted to congratulate Natalie Bratby, MSc, on graduating with Distinction from Nottingham Trent University, following the successful completion of her MSc in Building Surveying.

Natalie’s journey into the profession began when Bramble & Wagg Director Nicola Zadrozny MRICS delivered a guest lecture to postgraduate students at Nottingham Trent University. Following that lecture, Natalie proactively sought work experience, demonstrating the initiative and commitment that have since characterised her professional development.

Originally graduating with a First Class Honours degree in Geography from Keele University, Natalie entered surveying via a non-cognate route. Her academic background included a dissertation focused on the social housing sector, providing early exposure to the wider social and economic context of the built environment.

After completing a short period of work experience, Natalie joined Bramble & Wagg as a summer intern, supporting secured lending valuations and pre-purchase Home Surveys. She later accepted a permanent role as Assistant Surveyor while completing the second year of her MSc and formally enrolled on the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) on the Residential Pathway.

Since joining the practice, Natalie has worked closely with senior surveyors across both residential and commercial instructions, developing technical competence, professional judgement and client-facing confidence.

Her Master’s dissertation focused on the performance of sustainable retrofit solutions, involving the manufacture and laboratory testing of materials, followed by detailed performance analysis. The dissertation was awarded an Exceptional Distinction, reflecting the quality and depth of her research.

At Bramble & Wagg, we are committed to supporting multiple pathways into the profession and investing in the next generation of Chartered Surveyors. Natalie’s progression is a strong example of how academic rigour, structured training and practical experience can combine to deliver outstanding professional development.
